Docip services during the UNPFII 15 in New York

We have the pleasure to announce you Docip’s presence at the 15th session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) at the UN Headquarters in New York May 9-20, 2016. We will offer the following support services for all indigenous delegates attending the conference.

Technical Secretariat

Docip will set up a technical secretariat for Indigenous delegates in Conference Room A, on level B1 of the Conference Building. Our office is open from 9am to 6.30pm.

Thanks to our vast network of volunteers Docip offers the following free services to all Indigenous delegates attending the meeting:

  • Translations to and from English, French, Spanish and Russian
  • Interpretation to and from English, French, Spanish and Russian for informal meetings
  • Information on the 15th session of the Permanent Forum and other relevant UN procedures
  • IT support
  • Guidance for new participants
  • Photocopies and other administrative tasks

In order to support the Indigenous delegates’ work, our technical secretariat offers the following facilities:

  • An office to use as workspace
  • Computers and printers
  • Internet connection
  • Photocopier
  • Office supplies

On our website you can find more information on the UNPFII and on our technical secretariat. An excellent source of information is our "Welcome" guide which will also be distributed as hard-copy during the Forum.

Documentation

Docip gathers the statements read during the Permanent Forum and makes them available as fast as possible in our online Documentation Center at cendoc.docip.org. You will also find there references and related documents, as well as our training documentation. The official documents of the 15th session of the UNPFII can also be found on the Permanent Forum’s website.

We thank you in advance for handing a copy of your statements to our staff or send it to documentation(at)docip.org to make sure it will be integrated in our Documentation and thus preserved in the long term.

Support service

In the framework of the 15th session of the UNPFII Docip offers a support service to indigenous delegates and organizations interested in UN mechanisms. For further information please read the announcement on our website or contact Josée Daris: josee(at)docip.org.

Training sessions

In cooperation with the UN Voluntary Fund for Indigenous Peoples, Docip is organizing two training sessions open and free for all indigenous delegates. Interpretation is provided in English, Spanish, French and Russian.

Indigenous Peoples Global Caucus' Preparatory Meeting

The preparatory meeting of the Indigenous Caucus will take place on Sat, 7 May and Sun, 8 May from 9:00am to 3:30pm in the UN Church Center, 1st Av./44th St., 2nd floor. Docip's conference services and technical secretariat for Indigenous delegates will be available on the 11th floor of the Church Center.
