Dear Friend of Docip,
As the year draws to a close, here is the last weekly newsletter before 2026. The year 2025 has confirmed the central place of Indigenous Peoples as guardians of life and essential partners in the search for solutions to the climate, environmental, and social crises facing humanity. Their role in the implementation of international agreements on biodiversity and climate action is becoming increasingly important, as is the recognition of their rights within the UN system. Nevertheless, the international context remains complex and requires a constant and reinforced presence.
For Docip, 2025 was a year of sustained engagement alongside Indigenous delegations, in Geneva, in New York, and in other negotiation venues, as well as through remote support. Our team continued its support work during sessions of UN mechanisms and continued to provide translation and interpretation services, train hundreds of delegates, document their participation, and assist them in engaging with European Union entities. At the same time, we continued to regularly disseminate useful advocacy information through this newsletter and through our digital channels, in order to support your ability to defend your rights in discussions taking place in international forums.
Our work would not be possible without the dedication and collaboration of many individuals and institutions. We would like to warmly thank our volunteers, translators, interpreters, and members of our Board of Trustees for their availability and consistency. We also express our deep gratitude to our public and private sector financial partners, who make our activities possible and allow us to maintain free and accessible services for Indigenous delegations; these partners include the European Union, the City of Geneva, the Canton of Geneva, and the Sami Parliament of Norway.

The next newsletter will arrive in your inboxes in mid-January 2026, with the first announcements regarding the key UN events dedicated to Indigenous Peoples’ rights in the coming year.
We sincerely thank you for your continued trust and collaboration, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you in 2026. We wish you a very happy holiday season and a new year full of strength, health, and solidarity in the ongoing struggle for the rights of Indigenous Peoples.
