Docip Synthesis nº6 on the 17th session of the UNPFII

2018-06-06

Docip has the pleasure to share with you our first publication of this year, the Synthesis on the 17th session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues that took place from the 16th of April until the 27th of April in New York.

The 17th session of this year's Permanent Forum put the light on the collective rights to land, territories and natural resources of indigenous peoples. It was also the opportunity to engage with the new modalities of the conference as decided by the Secretariat, with no closed meetings during the first week and regional dialogues during the second week.

This Synthesis summarizes all the statements of the plenary sessions made during the two weeks of the conference, with in first place a paragraph of Introduction, then the Executive Summary, the summaries of the statements and Annexes.

I would like to thank my team for their work on this publication: Ms Zoé Boirin-Fargues and Ms. Urpi Saco Chung (volunteers), Ms Leyla Babayeva and Mr. Ivan Gorovenko (translation in Russian), M. Diego Guzmán (translation in Spanish), Ms. Clémence Berger (translation in French), and Ms. Mary Holihan (proof reading in English).

Wishing you good reading,

Claire Moretto
