Summary Notes nº 5 on the 10th session of EMRIP

2017-08-09

As we are celebrating today jointly with you the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, with the theme on the 10th anniversary of the United Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, we have the pleasure to announce you our last publication: the Summary Notes on the 10th Session of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples that took place in Geneva from 10th to 14th of July this year.

Those Notes make report on the discussions held in the realm of the new EMRIP mandate, which hold a large part of the dialogue. These Summary Notes present all the statements of the plenaries sessions made during the week of the conference.

They also include an Executive Summary in its first part, which present among others the proposals to be submitted to the Human Rights Council by the Expert Mechanism.

Finally, I would like to express many thanks to my two volunteers during the conference: Ms. Clea Barou for her commitment and hard work since the Permanent Forum, and Ms. Laura Gavidia also for her hard work during the conference.

Also, the team of trustful translators for their engagement: Ms. Leila Babayeva and Mr. Ian Gorovenko (Russian), Ms. Clémence Berger (French), Mr. Diego Guzmán (Spanish) and Ms. Mary Holihan (English proof reading).

Best regards,

Claire Moretto
