Dear friends,
It is not easy to find the words to do justice to Dr Erica I. Daes and her work to promote the collective and individual rights of indigenous peoples at the United Nations.
Erica Daes knew how to listen and act with both rigour and empathy. She placed her skills and capacity for resilience in the face of adversity at the service of indigenous peoples. She profoundly understood indigenous values and world vision and she knew how to act as an advocate on their behalf
Erica, rest in peace in your cherished land of Greece - your work was truly magnificent!
