A message from our director

2018-08-10

Dear friends of Docip,

It is with great pleasure that we take this opportunity on this platform to make a new announcement to our network.

Docip has undergone a restructuring this year that led to my beginning serving as its Director as of July 1st, and to joining you at the most recent session of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (EMRIP).

Photo: the members of our team: Claire, Priscilla et JohannaThis year will also be marked by departures within our team:

Karen Pfefferli completed her contract on July 31, 2018, and will be replaced by Johanna Massa (johanna(at)docip.org) for the Coordination of Technical Secretariats.

Ellen Walker also completed her contract, on June 30, 2018, as Training Manager. Claire Moretto (claire(at)docip.org), in her role as Capacity Building Officer, will take on the responsibilities of Training in addition to continuing her work on our publication "Update". Priscilla Saillen (priscilla(at)docip.org), as Documentation Manager, will take over management of the Documentation Center, as well as overseeing the Summary Notes on the Permanent Forum (UNPFII) and the Expert Mechanism EMRIP.

This new organizational structure is intended to guarantee that you always receive the same quality of service, and in an atmosphere of friendliness and mutual understanding.

I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation for the work and commitment of Karen Pfefferli and Ellen Walker and for their dedication to Docip and to their respective projects.

Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or requests for additional information.

Wishing you all the best going forward,

Rémi Orsier
