This Summary presents the discussions held, in person and online, during the 16th session of the EMRIP, July 17 to 21, 2023.

112TH SESSION OF THE COMMITTEE ON THE ELIMINATION OF ALL FORMS OF RACIAL DISCRIMINATION
2024-04-08 - 2024-04-29These categories referring to Indigenous Peoples' rights and freedoms are inspired by the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. They serve, on the one hand, to strengthen the case for the defence and promotion of the rights of Indigenous Peoples and, on the other hand, to identify documentation, conferences, programs, etc. You will find in sections 1 to 4 a random selection of a few examples of the 46 articles contained in the Declaration. We encourage you to read the entire Declaration to learn more about the rights and freedoms of Indigenous Peoples, as well as the obligations of the States. We also suggest that you review our Indigenous Peoples at the United Nations section, where you will find information on such areas as international mechanisms, treaty bodies and the special procedures as they relate to Indigenous Peoples.
