Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends,

As we usher in the New Year, we are delighted to announce the publication of Docip’s Summary Notes for the 18th Session of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (EMRIP), which took place in Geneva July 14-18, 2025.

These Summary Notes provide a substantive picture of discussions taking place over the week, focusing on recommendations and insights shared by Indigenous Peoples Delegates, Member States, Civil Society and Academia.

Drafting these Notes would not have been possible without the fantastic work of our dedicated volunteers and translators who worked tirelessly to transcribe and make available this important resource to our global audience.

Alice, Elsa, Marylou, Khan, Alessandra, Auriane, Aline, Abril, Alice, Arjan, Irina, Anna, Danaé, Cecile and Ashok, a million thanks to each and every one of you for your incredible work in contributing with this process!

With all this said and done, we wish you a great end to your year, happy holidays and a fantastic start for 2026! Happy reading!

All the best,

Tristan P. Harnisch and the Docip Team.
