DoCip’s primary area of activity is human rights. It has accompanied indigenous delegations and systematically collected all the documentation during the following sessions:

  • Working Group on Indigenous Populations
  • Working Group on the Draft Declaration
  • Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights (indigenous peoples’ documentation)
  • Commission on Human Rights (indigenous peoples’ documentation)

Today, it maintains an active presence alonside the

  • Human Rights Council
  • Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues

And soon, alongside the:

  • Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples

It also follows the work of the

  • Special Rapporteur on Indigenous Issues
  • Treaty bodies
  • Issues relating to indigenous peoples’ heritage and traditional knowledge: WIPO, CBD, UNESCO, ILO, etc.
