DoCip’s primary area of activity is human rights. It has accompanied indigenous delegations and systematically collected all the documentation during the following sessions:
- Working Group on Indigenous Populations
- Working Group on the Draft Declaration
- Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights (indigenous peoples’ documentation)
- Commission on Human Rights (indigenous peoples’ documentation)
Today, it maintains an active presence alonside the
- Human Rights Council.
- Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.
- Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
It also follows the work of the
- Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples
- Treaty bodies
- Issues relating to indigenous peoples’ heritage and traditional knowledge: WIPO, CBD, UNESCO, ILO, etc.
