Orientation sessions on UN Human Rights Mechanisms

Within the framework of the annual sessions of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous peoples, doCip has organised orientation sessions on the UN Human Rights mechanisms for the representatives of indigenous peoples.

Two orientation sessions took place in Geneva on the 29th and 30th of September 2008 and on the 8th of August 2009. They were held by Joan Carling, Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP) Secretary-General, Alberto Saldamando, International Indian Treaty Council (IITC) General Counsel and Samia Slimane, from UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) - in personal quality.
